Strictly Come Dancing winner 'exposed' after fans spot hint in opening credits

Strictly Come Dancing fans have been captivated this year as a new group of celebrities showcase their dancing skills on the dance floor.

With scores already hitting as high as 35 within the first three weeks of competition, numerous stars stand a chance at securing the Glitterball.

However, one observant fan believes they've already determined the winner by scrutinising the show's opening credits.

Reddit user MorningMist13 has analysed the previous seasons of the BBC show and deduced that the celebrity who is shown sixth in the line-up may have higher chances of success.

This theory stems from the fact that the last three celebrities who won the show were all featured in this position within the opening credits. Additionally, six other individuals who were placed in that position managed to reach the finals, reports Birmingham Live.

According to this viewer's calculations, it suggests that sports star Paul Merson and his professional partner Karen Hauer will be crowned champions.

Despite finding himself in the dance-off alongside Toyah Willcox last weekend after their performances failed to win over audiences, Paul was saved by the judges.

The Strictly enthusiast also asserts that the person shown 13th in the credits has the worst odds of winning, with no previous stars winning from that position.

This year, occupying that spot are Sarah Hadland and Vito Coppola who are currently leading the competition after earning a score of 33 in week three.

Can the actress defy the odds and shatter the unlucky 13 curse?

However, comedian Chris McCausland has emerged as the bookies' top pick to claim the coveted Glitterball trophy.

The 47 year old, who is making history as the show's first blind contestant, has been wowing the judges with his impressive moves alongside partner Dianne Buswell.

According to William Hill, Chris is now the favourite to win, while Paul Merson's time on the show appears to be drawing to a close.

Lee Phelps, a spokesperson for the bookmaker, revealed: "Paul Merson's exit from Strictly Come Dancing looks to be edging closer and the former Arsenal man leads the elimination market at 4/7 to leave the show this weekend.

"Nick Knowles is next in the betting at 15/8 after missing last week's show due to injury, though it remains uncertain whether Knowles will return to the ballroom, potentially keeping him safe from elimination once again.

"Our punters meanwhile seem to love Chris McCausland, and the comedian is now odds-on with us to win the show."

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday at 6.20pm on BBC One and iPlayer
