Alison Hammond cheekily called out her co-presenter Jeff Brazier on Friday's episode of This Morning. After spending a week in America covering the latest ITV competition, Jeff made his return to the show directly from New York, confessing he had just disembarked from his flight, and Alison alongside Dermot O'Leary had a few playful qualms with him.
Dermot aired his frustration about Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard gracing a giant Times Square billboard, saying: "We saw it, I was livid."
To which Alison added in joking outrage: "We missed out man, they cut us out! We got shaded, where were we?!"
Dermot then clarified that as there were two sides to the billboard, their faces could have been featured elsewhere, elaborating: "We were there for the promo pictures!"
Jeff quickly shifted the conversation away, revealing that he had brought back presents for both presenters, gifting Alison with a baseball cap and bestowing upon Dermot a mug - gifts that received a positive reaction, especially from Alison who declared: "Oh stop it! I love this. I love New York, I love the shopping!"
Jeff went on to note that he brought the souvenirs specifically because he knew the duo would be hosting the show that day, adding: "We did think of you guys because we knew it was going to be you (hosting the show) on Friday."
Discussing his trip, Jeff described his time in New York as "a lot of fun", as he was given tasks by Cat and Ben to visit certain iconic spots for each episode, reports the Mirror.
He added: "It's the best, the steam coming out of the sewers, the subway-" but Dermot couldn't resist interjecting with a humorous jab: "You're really selling it!"
Earlier in the week, Jeff left Cat and Ben utterly gobsmacked when he revealed their faces emblazoned across Times Square on Monday's show.
Ben was clearly impressed, commented: "That's amazing! Jeff, can you please take a picture?! Send pictures and send them over please."
Cat, equally stunned, responded with a shocked: "No way!"
Despite trying to move the conversation on, Ben was still left gobsmacked over seeing his face in New York. He added: "'m still... That Times Square with the picture of our show on?! That's just amazing."
However, viewers were less than impressed with ITV's decision to fly Jeff to the US just to plug a competition, with many calling the trip unnecessary.
Disgruntled tweets began to surface, with one viewer venting: "Remind me why Jeff Brazier needs to be in New York, and Andi Peters in Singapore to promote a competition? ! #thismorning"
Another reeled: "New York? F****ng really #ThisMorning?"
Someone else chimed in: "Why send him to New York just to sell a competition? Guarantee ITV bang on about net zero as well."
This Morning continues weekdays on ITV from 10am.
