Heartbreaking tributes have been shared after an 18-year-old man was stabbed to death in Derbyshire.
Noah Smedley died after he was attacked in Ilkeston, Derbyshire, on Saturday evening, with seven people detained on suspicion of murder including four 17-year-old boys.
Derbyshire Police said officers were called to Heanor Road in Ilkeston at 8.20pm on Saturday, December 28 after reports of a man being stabbed.
The force said a man was stabbed in Rose Avenue and later died on Heanor Road just before 9pm.
A 52-year-old man, 15-year-old girl and 16-year-old girl, as well as one of the 17-year-old boys, have all been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender in connection with the investigation.
Touching tributes to the teen have now been shared on social media.
One wrote: “Fly high gone way to soon loved and missed by everyone my heart goes out to your family RIP Noah smedley.”
Another one said: “RIP my mate, I have no words.”
A third wrote: “Rest in peace sweet boy taken too soon.”
A third wrote: "I'll forever miss you Noah."
Investigators are appealing to the public for any information that will assist with their enquiries.
Police officers are seeking CCTV/doorbell footage and any dashcam footage between the times of 7pm and 9pm in the areas of Heanor Road, Rose Avenue, Summerfields Way, Kedleston Drive and Peveril Drive.
Detective Chief Inspector Claudia Musson from the East Midlands Special Operation Unit, who is leading the investigation, said: “We are in the very early stages of the investigation and we are treating it as an isolated incident.
“We are keen for anyone with information to contact us as a matter of urgency to assist with the inquiry into the death of this young man.”
