  • Paddy Pimblett picked up an emphatic win over Michael Chandler last weekend
  • He has now revealed how much he has ballooned up in weight since the fight
  • Pimblett said drinking five milkshakes in a day led to his stunning weight gain

British UFC star Paddy Pimblett has revealed he has piled on the pounds since picking up the biggest win of his career over Michael Chandler last weekend.

Pimblett passed his acid test with flying colours in Miami as he dominated the experienced American before stopping him in the third round to move into the top 10 of the lightweight rankings.

The 30-year-old has been known to balloon up in weight between fights in the past, and he was seen tucking into a feast while puffing on a cigar just hours after his latest victory.

He has now announced he is already up to almost 200lbs, having got down to 155lbs to make the lightweight limit a little over a week ago.

'On Sunday, I had about five milkshakes after the fight,' Pimblett told legendary UFC announcer Bruce Buffer on his It's Time podcast.

'This morning I woke up like 198 (lbs), which is fat! That's about the heaviest I get. I don't ever really touch 200. Only if I'm in the States, that food it makes me into a machine.

'I'm massive in the States, but when I'm back in the UK the highest I'll reach is like 195.'

Pimblett has managed to put on over three stone in less than 10 days as he continues to make it difficult for himself when it comes to cutting a significant amount of weight for fights.

It's not the first time Pimblett has yo-yo'd in weight. In January last year, fans were stunned when pictures of the affable Liverpudlian looking bigger emerged on social media just two weeks after he beat Tony Ferguson.

Pimblett shared several pictures alongside his then-pregnant wife, Laura Pimblett, while on holiday.

'Holy f*** bro, how are you huge already?' one user asked in the comments.

Another added: 'I don't understand how this is humanly possible.'

Instead of keeping trim all year round, Pimblett prefers to allow himself freedom to eat what he wants when away from his training camps.

'I'd rather be fat and happy than ripped,' he said. 'These people who are ripped all year round are not happy, I don't care what they say.

'This six-pack is sound, I look great but I'd rather be fat and happy.'

It is currently unknown when he will return to the Octagon, but he is likely to be handed an even bigger test after dispatching Chandler in stunning fashion.

Pimblett called out ex-UFC champion and submission specialist Charles Oliveira in his post-fight interview last weekend, while also naming veteran contenders Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje as possible options for his next fight.

A victory over any of those three men would take him one step closer to a fight with current champion Islam Makhachev, and give him his shot at achieving his ultimate dream of finally wearing UFC gold.
